On behalf of the Vedanta Society of Calgary [VSC], I would like to invite you along with your family and friends, to participate at this special worship to Shri Krishna of BHAGAVAD GITA, which will be held at the VEDANTA CENTER[#405, 4655-54th Avenue NE, Calgary, AB T3J3Z4]  from 11-30AM to 1PM. The vegetarian dishes [NO garlic and onion], bought by the devotees will be offered and distributed as prasad at 1PM.

The Bhagavad Gita is the last Hindu Scripture[ a part of the epic Mahabharata] where Shri Krishna teaches the goal to be attained by each individual and the means for attaining it, through his friend and disciple Arjuna. The essential principle of Bhagavad Gita are as follows:

  1. Ref: Chapter 2, sloka 47: Renunciation of the fruits of the ACTION not the ACTION itself. Let there be no attachment to INACTION.
  2. Ref:Chapter 2, sloka 48: Perform ACTION, being fixed in YOGA [ means sameness in all conditions]. Even minded in success and failure, equilibrium is YOGA.
  3. Ref: Chapter 2, sloka 49: Be a giver and never that of a grabber..

These are the Universal message.

Quotation from Sir Winston Churchill: “We make a living by what we get. We make a life by what we give.”
