Synopsis of the program on April,29,2017,at the Vedanta Center[1 PM to 3 PM]

 1.  The program began with the Vedic chantings and the song of the last mantra of RigvedaSanhita, by the young devotees of Calgary,directed by their teacher Anirban Bosu.
Thanks to the young devotees and the teacher, for their well done performance. Thanks to the parents for encouraging their children to participate at the vedic chanting class.
   2. Anasuya Chattopadhyay- Ganguly sang a spiritual song of  Rabindranath Tagore[ 1913-Nobel Prize for Literature,for his  poems entitled ” Gitanjali”[Song Offerings]  ].This is the song sung by Swami Vivekananda ,when he met for the first time ,Shri Ramakrishna. The first line of this song[in English] ” I have made you the Polestar of my life,never again can I lose my way in the voyage of life……”,[ Polestar is the fixed star in the northern sky and it is  called  DHRUVA in Sanskrit, is in RigVeda: book no 10. Sukta 173[4] and in Hindu marriage ceremony, the bride-groom ,after arriving at the groom’s house,will have to look at  the Polestar[ the concluding part of the wedding ceremony]. Thanks to Anasuya for her superb presentation of this song and also the concluding song. You got the God-gifted musical talent and we all enjoyed very much your presentation.
  Thanks to Sharmila Mazumdar for agreeing to our request to sing a “Mira’ bhajan” at this program . Also,the Vedanta Society of Calgary,gratefully acknowledges  Sharmila Mazumdar’s contribution as a musical teacher of these young devotees ,who are singing very well these days, at all the VSC- programs.
    3. Revered Swami Kripamayananda presented an excellent talk on ” LIVING THE LIFE OF A VEDANTIST”. This talk was  very much appreciated  by the audience and we are all grateful to him for this talk within his busy schedule at this time of the year.
